If you live in a big city, especially those with sports teams chances are you have a lot of opportunities to attend fan events and meet some cool people.
I even enjoy planning some of my vacation trips to include these events in addition to other things I was going to do anyway. I have a group of friends who make it their business to keep up with all the meet and greet events going on in my area. I used to be pretty active in those circles and I still enjoy it from time to time. You can meet some cool people and have stories to tell with just a little effort. They aren’t going to knock on your door. Just get up off the couch and you can connect with that culture.
Many times while you are in line waiting for an event to begin, you will hear the other folks talking about yet another event. It’s a bit of a domino effect. I have really enjoyed that over the years. On this particular day, I went to a K-Mart store in Tucker, Ga. after work one evening and got to meet Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons. He was very cordial and signed a couple of items for me. He has really become a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. He is a beast.
